Reasons As To Why Support PTSA:

NHS PTSA makes a difference...

This 2020-21 school year will definitely feel different than the past years but as always, the PTSA will strive to support the students, the school, and their families through special events, teacher and learning support, and community building programs. Some Programs that are supported by the NHS PTSA are:

  • NHS PTSA donates funds to the school each year to support the technology enhancements, classroom supplies, or other equipment, disaster prep, and supplemental funding for a full-time health clerk. NHS PTSA hosts Staff Hospitality as a token of our Community’s collective gratitude to our amazing staff.

  • NHS PTSA hosts meetings on the second Wednesdays of every month at 7 pm, where you can hear of the latest school happenings from our Principal Roach and an ASB Rep. We also have weekly newsletters and Facebook and Instagram page to keep you informed and connected.

  • NHS PTSA maintains the popular Student Store and coordinates its parent volunteers. Student store is open at lunch time, five days a week, and serves snacks and drinks for around 200 students weekly. NHS PTSA Spirit-Wear team, organizes the school spirit-wear purchase every year.

  • NHS PTSA organizes the fun, safe, memorable, and  much-anticipated graduation-evening celebration with classmates, the Grad Night, for our graduating Seniors each year.

  • NHS PTSA assists at annual events like SOS (State of the Student) where lunch is served to all the students, Kick-Off Days, Back to School Night, Link Crew for Freshmen, PBIS Drawing Prizes, NHS Student Directory, RACC Dinner for Colleges, and gift cards for the visiting college reps and speakers.

  • NHS PTSA participates in the PTA activities such as Reflections, a national art appreciation program for K-12 students, and Advocacy trips to Sacramento for students and parents.

  • NHS PTSA Programs hosts parent/community volunteers as Career Speakers at lunchtime for the students to hear about the different available career paths and hosts presentations/movies for the community on topics requested, such as, school safety, internet safety, mental health awareness, etc.

On behalf of the Board and the Committees of Northwood High School Parent Teacher Student Association, thank you in advance for your support of the NHS PTSA. We look forward to staying connected and working with you this year as we continue to maintain our support for advocacy and excellence in education for all students regardless of whether learning happens online or in-person!
